Optimal started a process of changing its identity and the goal was to update and make it more contemporary without losing the strong connection to their core business. Optimal is a Portuguese company specialized in structural solutions focusing on projects in the area of high performance aerospace and automotive. The fiberglass modeling is the raw material of the Optimal working process. This was our starting point: keep this strong connection to the raw material.
The goal was to create a unique personality for Optimal, representative of the its activity. We developed a symbol/logo whose formal composition refers to the universe of "mesh” and we used the "O" to create a more contemporary interlaced. At the same time we suggest a second concept: the junction and the union of ideas. We wanted to introduce Optimal as a technological company, forward, unique and straight to the point.
The brief asked for the creation of two sub-brands - Optimal Aerostructures e a Optimal Structural Solutions. These are sister brands who live under the Optimal institutional brand and act as a specialization of the main brand. As for color code we proposed a common color for both brands - the institutional warm gray for the designation "Optimal". Optimal Aerostructures legitimately assume the blue while Optimal Structural Solutions is presented through a dynamic green. This simple division is supported by a typography that follows the one formally developed for Optimal.
The brand launch was done with the presentation of a project for two of the partners of Optimal, OGMA and Embraer, through Optimal Structural Solutions. For the occasion we developed a commemorative kit, to mark the date, composed by communication materials where the new identity took shape.
