”O Caminho-de-Ferro 1910-2010”

Exhibition Design, Advertising and Merchandissing

The design of the exhibition on the last 100 years of the railways in Portugal, sought to answer three strategic objectives outlined by CP and Refer.

Accordingly a concept was created based on three aspects. Firstly, the concept of travel, where parallels between the route of a journey and the exhibition route, conveys the importance of road and rail in the history of the Republic. Secondly, the usage of the language of communication of the means of transport enhancing the reputation of the railway in the world and Portugal. And lastly, the standpoint of color, the integration of the identity of the promoters in the exhibition route, or in communication pieces.

The application of these concepts, from the formal point of view, was developed using light environments and games that leads the visitor through the exhibition and promotes different levels of interaction. The exhibition "O Caminho-de-Ferro 1910-2010" (Railway) organized by the CP and REFER with an area of 900m2 was shown in Rossio train station in Lisbon and has been visited by 7,000 people. Flúor was responsible for the exhibition design, the identity, advertising and merchandising.
